While most Bear Forest Knives are rugged and well-rounded outdoor knives, The Backstrap is engineered to be a precision cutting tool like a surgeon's scalpel. The engine behind this knife is the narrow upswept 6-inch long blade with a 1/16-inch thick blade and ultra-sharp Full Flat grind. A deep finger groove creates an integrated guard in the handle for a nonslip grip when innards/blood. The Backstrap is the knife to reach for when you need to fillet a fish or section up stew meat and veggies. Let's not forget the ever-so-prized elk and deer backstrap you painstakingly worked hard to obtain.
